When using the setting Leave Messages on Server, Cox recommends that you regularly check your mailbox size to ensure you do not reach your mailbox storage limit.

Reaching your mailbox storage limit means your inbox cannot accept any new email until you take action to delete email from your mailbox.

Switching to IMAP To switch from using POP server settings to IMAP in your email clients, Cox recommends that you back up any important email that you want to save before you complete the following steps.

In your email client, set up a new IMAP email account using the same email address associated with the POP settings.

If your email doesnt appear in your new IMAP-configured email account, then it may be due to one of the following reasons.

The setting Leave Messages on Server is not enabled in the POP-configured email account.

There is a configuration issue with the IMAP or POP server settings.

Settings are applied to incoming email, such as a filter or mail forwarding.

Deliberate or accidental human action, or a compromised account.
